It's is a site-specific projection that slowly transitions through a spectrum of colors cued to field recordings of droning cicadas collected by the artist (Cacama valvata, aka Cactus Dodgers incarnate the ghost of Aztec king Cacamatzin). Complimenting the immersive installation, organic and synthetic found-objects catch the reflected light-wash of a tanning bed projection through a viewfinder. The artist associates this pulsing reverberation with naturally occurring cyclical infrastructures; the electromagnetic (visible) spectrum, sunrise/setting, seasonal recreation, insect mating patterns to name a few. A new edition of zines, that share the installation's title, catalogue a full-circle gradient of marble swatches from metamorphic rock found throughout Mexico and Spain.
